Biography

A graduate of the HEM in Geneva, the Juilliard School, the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln and the Basel Academy of Music, winner of the Kiefer Hablitzel Göhner Music Prize, Jansen Ryser has performed across Europe.

Invited by numerous festivals, he has performed as soloist and chamber partner, notably at the Verbier Festival, Gstaad Menuhin Festival, Lavaux Classic Festival, Week-End Musical de Pully, Plovdiv International Chamber Music Festival, Vienna Young Pianist, Art et Musique de Sierre, Festival de la Madeleine, Opera Festival of Montperreux. A regular guest soloist.

Making his debut with orchestra at age 15 on the prestigious stage of the Menuhin Festival in Gstaad, Jansen Ryser has since played with several orchestras: Camerata Armin Jordan (Orchestre de la Suisse Romande), Haute Ecole de Musique de Genève Orchestra, CMgo Orchestra, Amamusique Orchestra. His performance has taken him to prestigious venue such as Victoria Hall in Geneva, Tonhalle in Zürich, Ehrbar Saal in Vienna, Stravinsky Hall in Montreux, Kursaal Casino in Bern among others. 

A passionate chamber musician, Jansen Ryser was given « carte blanche » from Art Association for a series of three concerts involving nine musicians in Salle Paderewski in Lausanne. These concerts were recorded and broadcasted on the Swiss national radio Espace 2 in the show « Nouveaux Talents » held by Jan Nehring. His long-standing collaboration with the soprano Sophie Negoïta led them to stood out at the Concours International Lili et Nadia Boulanger in Paris. 

Jansen Ryser is the recipient of the Cultural Grant of the foundation Leenaards as well as the Dénéréaz Foundation. 

Born in 1994 in Lausanne, Jansen Ryser started playing the piano at the age of 5. Graduated from the Geneva University of Music, the Juilliard School in New York, thanks to the generosity of the Theodora J. Nicolas Piano Scholarship, the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln as well as the Basel University of Music; he followed the teachings of Claudio Martinez-Mehner, Matti Raekallio, Sylviane Deferne and Adrian Kreda. In Geneva, he received the 2017 Filipinetti Prize rewarding the best master soloist. He perfected his skills with great masters such as Paul Badura-Skoda, Ferenc Rados, Eberhard Feltz, Andreas Staier, Franz Helmerson, Nelson Goerner, etc.; il a suivi les enseignements de Claudio Martinez-Mehner, Matti Raekallio, Sylviane Deferne et Adrian Kreda. A Genève, il reçoit le prix Filipinetti 2017 récompensant le meilleur master soliste.
